The history of Armada Pontoon Boats in Eagle, Idaho dates back to the 1980s when a group of friends and business partners had a vision to create high-quality, affordable pontoon boats for recreational use. The company has since become one of the leading manufacturers of pontoon boats in the United States, with a strong presence in Eagle and surrounding areas. In the early days, Armada Pontoon Boats was known as "Armada Marine" and was founded by four friends: Tom Kaser, Dave Gudgel Sr., Jim Stuckenschmidt, and Don Meek. They all shared a passion for boating and saw an opportunity to design and manufacture pontoon boats that were not only functional but also stylish. Their first production facility was located on Ballantyne Lane in Eagle. It wasn't long before their innovative designs caught on, and demand for their boats increased rapidly. In 1992, they moved into a larger facility on State Street where they could expand production to meet growing demands. Throughout the years, Armada Pontoon Boats has continued to innovate and improve its designs while staying true to its original mission – creating high-quality pontoons at an affordable price. The company's success can be attributed to its dedication to customer satisfaction through excellent craftsmanship and exceptional service. One significant milestone for Armada Pontoon Boats came in 2011 when it became part of White River Marine Group (WRMG), one of the largest marine manufacturing companies globally owned by Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris. This partnership provided additional resources and support for research & development efforts resulting in even more advanced boat designs. Today, over three decades after its inception; Armada continues operating at full capacity from its current location off Chinden Boulevard near Downtown Eagle as WRMG’s premium brand offering luxurious features along with state-of-the-art technology such as touch screen controls paired seamlessly with Mercury outboards or MerCruiser stern drives. The company’s product portfolio covers every type of boater, from the avid fisherman to the leisurely cruiser. Armada Pontoon Boats is not only dedicated to providing high-quality boats but also actively contributes to its local community in Eagle and beyond. The company has a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and regularly participates in initiatives that promote clean waterways and conservation efforts. One of Armada's most significant contributions to the Eagle community was when it donated a pontoon boat for use at Eagle Island State Park's pond. This donation allowed visitors who cannot swim or are afraid of deep water, including children with special needs, an opportunity to experience a safe boating adventure on the park’s waters. In addition to its involvement in charitable causes, Armada Pontoon Boats also supports local events and organizations such as Boise River Festival, Cabela’s Outdoor Classic Fishing Tournament benefitting Idaho Foodbank & American Red Cross; Idaho Grower/Shippers Association (IGSA) Annual Golf Tournament champions hunger relief through donations benefiting area food banks; among others. Over the years, Armada Pontoon Boats has received numerous accolades for its exceptional products and services. In 2018 & 2019 they won "Best Luxury Pontoons" award by prestigious National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), showcasing their dedication towards quality construction methods producing world-class pontoons crafted right here in Eagle, ID USA while keeping prices lower than competition - making luxurious comforts accessible without breaking bank! The success story of Armada Pontoon Boats would not have been possible without their skilled workforce whose craftsmanship ensures each boat meets or exceeds customer expectations. Many employees have been with the company since its early days – some even working alongside founders Tom Kaser or Dave Gudgel Sr., who still remain active within WRMG leadership today! In conclusion, Armada Pontoon Boats' history in Eagle is one of innovation, dedication to quality, and community involvement. The company has come a long way from its humble beginnings as a small production facility in the 1980s to becoming one of the leading pontoon boat manufacturers nationwide. Introduction Eagle, Idaho is a small but rapidly growing city located in Ada County, just northwest of Boise. With a population of over 30,000 residents and an area of less than 30 square miles, Eagle has managed to maintain its small town charm while also offering modern amenities and opportunities for growth. In this paper, we will explore the history of Eagle, its current state as a community, and what makes it such a desirable place to live. History The land that is now known as Eagle was originally inhabited by Native American tribes such as the Shoshone-Bannock and Northern Paiute people. It wasn't until the mid-19th century when European settlers began arriving in the area through wagon trains on their way westward. The Oregon Trail passed near present-day Eagle and served as one of the main routes for pioneers heading towards California or Oregon. In 1863, two men named Henry Leachman and H.C. Riggs established homesteads in what would become known as "Eagle Island." They were soon joined by other families looking to start new lives in this fertile valley along the Boise River. The name "Eagle" originated from an early settler who spotted eagles nesting along the riverbanks. The majestic birds became synonymous with the area and eventually gave rise to names such as "Eagle Creek" and "Eagle Island." As more families settled in Eagle during the late 1800s, it became primarily an agricultural community with farms producing potatoes, onions, wheat, fruit orchards, dairy products and livestock raising. Development & Growth Incorporated in 1971 with only about 350 residents at that time , Eagle's growth remained slow but steady throughout most of its existence until recent years when it experienced unprecedented expansion due to its close proximity to Boise's urban development. Today’s Economy & Community Despite being surrounded by larger cities, Eagle has managed to maintain its small-town feel and sense of community. It is a family-oriented city with top-rated schools, low crime rates, and a strong economy. The economy of Eagle is diverse with multiple industries contributing to its growth. Agriculture still plays a significant role in the local economy, but there has been an increase in other sectors such as technology, healthcare, and retail. Major employers include Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, Boise Cascade Company, St. Luke’s Health System, and Albertsons Companies. Eagle also offers plenty of recreational opportunities for residents and visitors alike. The Boise River runs through the city providing opportunities for fishing, boating, and rafting. Conclusion In conclusion,Eagle,ID is much more than just another suburbia. Its rich history, strategic growth, and strong sense community make it stand out as one of Idaho's most desirable places live.Even with recent expansion, the city remains true its roots by preserving open spaces, promoting sustainable development, and fostering an inclusive environment for all residents . Whether you are looking for a peaceful place to raise a family or a vibrant community to start a business, Eagle offers the best of both worlds. The history of Armada pontoon boats can be traced back to the early 1950s when a small boat builder named John Babbitt had a vision to create an affordable and versatile watercraft. He wanted to design a boat that could not only navigate through shallow waters but also serve as a platform for fishing, family outings, and recreational activities. Babbitt's dream became a reality in 1958 when he introduced his first ever "Pontoon Pleasure Boat" under the brand name "Sanpan". This innovative design featured two aluminum pontoons connected by a flat deck with comfortable seating arrangements. The Sanpan quickly gained popularity among boating enthusiasts for its stability, affordability, and versatility. In the following years, other manufacturers began producing similar models of pontoon boats. However, it was not until the late 1970s that Armada made its mark in the industry with its unique designs and high-quality construction. The company's founder Brian Linton had been working at another pontoon manufacturer before deciding to start his own business in 1976. From humble beginnings operating out of Linton's garage in Columbia City, Indiana; Armada gradually expanded over the years into one of America’s top-rated pontoon boat brands today. In fact, their slogan "Building Dreams One Boat at A Time" still holds true as each vessel is handcrafted using premium materials and cutting-edge technology. Throughout its journey from being just another manufacturer to becoming an industry leader; Armada has always focused on customer satisfaction above all else. That is why they have consistently received high ratings for performance, durability, value for money; earning them numerous accolades including coveted NMMA (National Marine Manufacturers Association) awards along the way. Armada has constantly innovated their designs to cater to changing consumer needs while maintaining their commitment towards quality craftsmanship. In recent years they have incorporated features such as luxurious interiors with plush seating arrangements; state-of-the-art sound systems and even built-in bars in some models. These modern amenities have made Armada pontoon boats a popular choice for both family outings and party cruises. In addition to their impressive product range, Armada has also established itself as an environmentally conscious company by using sustainable materials in their manufacturing process. They have been at the forefront of promoting eco-friendly boating practices such as fuel-efficiency, recycling programs, and responsible waste management. Today, Armada offers a wide variety of pontoon boat models ranging from compact single pontoons to luxurious tri-toons (three pontoons). The versatility of these vessels makes them suitable for various activities including fishing, water sports, or simply cruising on the lake. With customizable options available; customers can design their dream boat according to their specific needs and preferences. The success story of Armada is not just limited to its product line but also extends to its loyal customer base that has grown over the years. Many families have passed down their love for boating from one generation to another through owning an Armada pontoon boat. This speaks volumes about the brand's reputation and legacy which continues to thrive today. In conclusion, the history of Armada pontoon boats is a testament to how passion combined with hard work can lead towards success. From humble beginnings in a garage, the company has come a long way in becoming one of America’s top-rated manufacturers in its industry. Their commitment towards quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction remains unwavering making them a go-to choice for anyone looking for a reliable and versatile vessel on water.

In its early years, Armada focused on producing high-quality pontoons with innovative designs and features that set them apart from other manufacturers. This dedication to quality and innovation quickly gained the attention of boating enthusiasts and helped establish Armada as a top player in the pontoon boat market. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Armada continued to expand its product line and introduce new models with advanced features such as all-aluminum decking, stereo systems, enclosed head compartments, and more. The company also became known for its commitment to customer satisfaction through exceptional service and support. In 1994, Armada was acquired by Triton Industries LLC (now Forest River Marine), a leading manufacturer of recreational vehicles. The turn of the millennium brought even more growth for Armada Pontoon Boats with an increased focus on technological advancements. Eagle, Idaho is a small town located in the western part of the United States. It is situated in Ada County and has a population of just over 30,000 people. Despite its size, Eagle has an interesting history that dates back to the early 1800s. The area where Eagle now stands was originally inhabited by Native American tribes such as the Shoshone-Bannock and Nez Perce. These tribes lived off the land for centuries until European explorers arrived in the region. In 1805, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark led an expedition through what is now known as Idaho. They were followed by fur trappers who established trading posts along rivers like the Boise River which runs through Eagle. One of these fur traders was François Payette who arrived in Idaho around 1818. He set up his trading post near present-day Emmett but later moved it closer to where Eagle currently stands due to its rich resources and fertile land. In 1863, President Abraham Lincoln signed legislation creating Idaho Territory with Lewiston as its capital city. However, after years of debate about moving the capital from Lewiston to another location that was more centrally located within the territory, Boise became permanent capital city on December 24th, 1864. During this time period, many settlers began migrating westward looking for new opportunities and a better way of life. Among these pioneers were John Saylor Fulenwider and Charles Frazier Smith who purchased large plots of land near present-day downtown Eagle. Fulenwider built a gristmill at what is now known as Mill Park while Smith constructed a sawmill nearby along Mace Road which provided lumber for building materials used throughout southern Idaho. Meanwhile, another settler named Andrew J. Keiser bought land east of downtown where he built his home on top of one eagle's nest - hence giving rise to the name "Eagle" for the town. The area continued to grow as more people settled and established farms, orchards, and ranches in the fertile land surrounding Eagle. In 1904, the Oregon Short Line Railroad began service through Eagle which further boosted its economy by providing transportation for goods and passengers. In 1910, a fire broke out in downtown Eagle destroying many of its buildings including the gristmill and sawmill. However, this did not deter residents from rebuilding their town. New businesses emerged such as a blacksmith shop, general store, hotel, post office, schoolhouse and churches were built to serve the community's needs. Eagle was officially incorporated as a village on March 3rd, 1971 with Robert Simison serving as its first mayor. As it grew in population over the years it became known for its agricultural production with crops like potatoes being one of its main exports. Today Eagle has evolved into a thriving community with modern amenities while still maintaining its small-town charm. It is home to several parks including Reid Merrill Park which features an original pioneer cemetery from the early days of settlement. Eagle continues to attract new residents due to its scenic views of nearby foothills along with outdoor recreational opportunities such as hiking trails at Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area or fishing at Lucky Peak Reservoir just a short drive away. Overall, Eagle's history reflects that of many small towns throughout America - starting off as humble settlements that grew through perseverance and determination into vibrant communities that offer both historical significance and modern conveniences for those who call it home.

Eagle, Idaho was originally inhabited by the Shoshone and Bannock Native American tribes. The area served as a hunting and fishing ground for these tribes until European settlers arrived in the mid-1800s. In 1863, Eagle became an important stop along the stagecoach route between Boise and Walla Walla, Washington. The town's name is said to have originated from an eagle that perched on top of a tree near the local saloon. The discovery of gold in nearby Boise Basin brought a surge of miners to Eagle in search of fortune. By 1867, Eagle had become the county seat of Ada County due to its central location between Idaho City and Boise. In 1872, the Oregon Short Line Railroad extended its line through Eagle, bringing more commerce and growth to the town. However, when Boise became the capital city in 1864, many residents moved there for better opportunities. Throughout the late 1800s and early 1900s, agriculture drove much of Eagle's economy with crops such as wheat, barley, oats and potatoes being grown on farmland surrounding the town. In addition to farming activities, Eagle also had several sawmills that produced lumber for building materials. During World War II , a prisoner-of-war camp was established just outside of Eagle where German prisoners were used as laborers on local farms due to manpower shortages caused by war efforts. After WWII ended , new industries such as electronics manufacturing began emerging in nearby cities like Meridian which spurred development around Eagle as well. By this time period (1955), residential neighborhoods started springing up throughout town leading towards rapid population growth . With improved infrastructure came amenities such as schools , parks , and shopping centers ; making it an attractive place for families looking for a peaceful small-town lifestyle away from urban areas . As more people moved into Eagle during this time period , there were also concerns about preserving the town's small-town charm and community feel. In response, the city implemented strict zoning laws to limit commercial development and maintain a balance between residential areas and open space. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Eagle continued to grow as a desirable suburb of Boise with new housing developments, schools, and shopping centers being built. The population doubled between 1980 and 2000 from over 2,000 residents to almost 5,000. Today , Eagle has a population of over 28,000 people according to the latest census data (2021) . Despite its growth , Eagle has managed to preserve its small-town charm with local events such as the annual Eagle Fun Days celebration showcasing community spirit . Eagle continues to thrive as an affluent community with strong ties to agriculture while also embracing modern industries such as technology and healthcare. Its scenic location along the Boise River makes it a popular destination for outdoor recreation activities like hiking, biking, fishing, and boating. In recent years , there have been efforts by city leaders to promote sustainable growth through initiatives like maintaining green spaces and implementing eco-friendly practices in new developments. Despite facing challenges related to rapid development , Eagle remains committed towards preserving its history while creating opportunities for future generations.

The history of Armada Pontoon Boats in Eagle, Idaho is a story that spans over four decades. It all began in the late 1970s when Ron and Sherry Rice, two avid boaters from Idaho, decided to start their own pontoon boat manufacturing company. With a passion for boating and an entrepreneurial spirit, they set out to create high-quality pontoon boats that would revolutionize the industry. In 1978, Ron and Sherry founded Armada Boats Inc., with its headquarters located in Eagle, Idaho. They started with just a small shop and a handful of employees but had big dreams for their company. Their goal was to design and build pontoon boats that were not only durable but also visually appealing and comfortable. Their first model was the “Classic” series which featured aluminum pontoons with vinyl upholstery. This model quickly gained popularity as it offered an affordable option for those looking to enter the world of boating. The success of this initial model led them to expand their product line and add new features such as fishing chairs, live wells, and larger motors. As Armada’s reputation grew as a reliable manufacturer of quality pontoon boats, so did their business operations. In 1992, they moved into a larger facility on Highway 44 in Star, Idaho – just outside of Eagle – allowing them to produce more boats at once while still maintaining their high standards. By the early 2000s’, Armada was producing various models including luxury pontoons equipped with premium features like plush seating arrangements, built-in entertainment systems, full-service bars complete with refrigerators/freezers/sinks/and grills - essentially everything you could imagine needing while out on the water. But what truly sets Armada apart from other manufacturers is its commitment to innovation. Throughout its history, the company has continuously improved upon its designs by incorporating advanced technology such as GPS navigation systems and LED lighting. They also introduced the concept of “triple-toon” pontoons which feature a third center pontoon for added stability and performance – a game-changer in the industry. As Armada’s reputation continued to grow, so did their presence in Idaho’s boating community. In 2007, they opened a new state-of-the-art headquarters on Chinden Boulevard in Garden City, Idaho – just minutes from Eagle. This facility boasts over 100,000 square feet of production space and houses all aspects of the business including design, manufacturing, sales and service. Today, Armada Pontoon Boats remains a family-owned and operated company with Ron Rice still at its helm as President. Over the years it has become one of the most recognizable brands in the boating industry not only in Idaho but across the country. Their boats can be found on lakes and rivers throughout North America providing endless hours of enjoyment for families and individuals alike. In addition to producing top-quality pontoon boats, Armada is also committed to giving back to its local community through various philanthropic efforts. Armada pontoon boats are a popular choice for those who enjoy spending time on the water. These versatile and spacious vessels offer a comfortable and stable platform for various activities, from cruising to fishing, watersports, or simply relaxing with family and friends. The history of pontoon boats can be traced back to ancient times when they were used as floating bridges by the Chinese. However, it was not until the early 20th century that these boats gained popularity in recreational boating. In 1952, Ambrose Weeres built the first aluminum pontoon boat in Minnesota, USA. Since then, pontoon boats have come a long way in terms of design and capabilities. One of the leading manufacturers of pontoon boats is Armada Boats. The result is a lighter yet stronger frame that provides better performance while reducing fuel consumption. Moreover, all Armada pontoons feature positive angle lifting strakes which help improve maneuverability at low speeds while providing lift at higher speeds for better handling on rough waters. This unique design also enhances fuel efficiency by reducing drag compared to flat-bottomed pontoons. From plush seating, ample storage space, integrated sound systems to LED lighting and marine-grade flooring options, every detail is carefully crafted to ensure an enjoyable boating experience. Armada also offers a range of optional features such as wakeboard towers, ski pylons, fishing chairs, live wells, and more to customize the boat according to individual preferences. These customizable options allow boaters to create their dream pontoon boat that suits their specific needs and style. Each boat is equipped with multiple fire extinguishers strategically placed throughout the vessel as well as navigation lights for safe night travel. Additionally, they offer various safety packages that include life jackets and first aid kits. One particular model from Armada's lineup worth mentioning is the Grand Mariner Series. This series boasts luxurious features such as soft-touch furniture with premium vinyl upholstery, stainless steel cup holders and hardware, adjustable reclining captain's chair with armrests among others. The Grand Mariner also comes equipped with a 12-foot bimini top for shade on sunny days and a changing room for privacy while out on the water. Moreover, advancements in technology have made these vessels more efficient than ever before regarding performance and fuel consumption. In conclusion, Armada pontoon boats are renowned for being one of the best in quality construction techniques using modern materials resulting in lightweight yet durable pontoons that provide exceptional handling even under harsh conditions. With luxurious interior amenities paired with advanced engineering features like the V-lite technology, Armada boats provide an unparalleled boating experience.
