Honda Marine has a long and storied history in Meridian, Idaho. The company’s presence in the city dates back to 1977 when Honda began producing outboard motors for boats at their manufacturing plant located on East Franklin Road. The early years of Honda Marine in Meridian were marked by innovation and growth. Their first product was the BF75, a four-stroke outboard motor that revolutionized the boating industry with its smooth and quiet operation. This initial success led to the development of several more models including the BF100, which was the world’s first V4 four-stroke engine. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Honda continued to expand their product line and improve upon existing models. In 1993, they introduced an electronic fuel injection system for their engines, making them more efficient and environmentally friendly. They also developed a range of portable engines for smaller boats that were popular among recreational boaters. In addition to producing high-quality outboard motors, Honda Marine has always been committed to environmental sustainability. In Meridian, they have implemented numerous initiatives to reduce waste and conserve energy during production processes. This commitment earned them recognition from organizations such as Green Power Partnership and Energy Star. By the turn of the century, Honda Marine had firmly established itself as a leader in marine technology not just in Idaho but worldwide. With increasing demand for their products across North America, they expanded their facilities in Meridian twice – once in 2002 and then again in 2011 – doubling its size each time. In recent years, Honda Marine has focused on developing cutting-edge technologies that make boating easier while minimizing its impact on nature. For instance, they introduced Intelligent Shift & Throttle (iST) technology that allows operators to control multiple engines with one lever instead of having separate controls for each engine. iST also optimizes fuel consumption by automatically selecting the most efficient gear ratio. In 2018, Honda Marine made a significant investment in Meridian by opening a new $6.5 million research and development center. The facility boasts state-of-the-art testing equipment that enables engineers to push the boundaries of marine technology further. They also have an outdoor testing area with access to water for real-world trials of their products. Today, Honda Marine’s presence in Meridian is not just limited to manufacturing boats – they are deeply involved in the local community as well. They regularly contribute to various charitable causes and sponsor local events such as the Boise River Festival and Meridian Symphony Orchestra concerts. Furthermore, being located in Idaho has allowed Honda Marine to tap into a skilled workforce with experience in engineering, metal fabrication, welding, electronics assembly among other areas – all crucial for producing high-quality outboard motors. Honda Marine’s commitment to innovation and sustainability has helped them become one of the most trusted brands in boating worldwide. Their continued focus on developing cutting-edge technologies while preserving nature makes them an industry leader not just today but for years to come. In conclusion, Honda Marine's history in Meridian is one filled with growth, innovation, and dedication towards environmental sustainability. From their humble beginnings over four decades ago until now - where they continue to push boundaries - they have left an indelible mark on both the city of Meridian and the marine industry at large. As we look towards the future, it is clear that Honda Marine will continue its legacy of excellence while remaining true to its values of innovation and sustainability.

Honda Marine is a division of the renowned Japanese automobile manufacturer, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. Established in 1964, Honda Marine has been a leading producer of high-quality outboard engines and marine equipment for over five decades. With its cutting-edge technology and innovative designs, Honda Marine has become a trusted name in the boating industry around the world. The Beginning: From Cars to Boats When Soichiro Honda founded his company in 1948, he had a vision to provide people with reliable transportation. He started by producing motorcycles and later ventured into manufacturing automobiles. In the early years of its establishment, Honda focused solely on land-based vehicles; however, it was not long before they recognized an opportunity in the marine market. Furthermore, Honda has introduced a range of eco-friendly products such as its flagship marine engine, BF250HP, which runs on natural gas or propane. This model emits 90% less carbon monoxide than gasoline-powered models and produces no evaporative emissions. In addition to producing environmentally friendly products, Honda also focuses on reducing its manufacturing processes' environmental impact. They have implemented various sustainability initiatives at their production facilities worldwide and are continuously working towards improving efficiency while minimizing waste. Award-Winning Design: Combining Form and Function Honda Marine takes pride in its product design with every detail carefully considered for both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Their outboard motors feature sleek designs that not only look good but also improve performance through aerodynamics. Their ergonomic tiller handle allows for easy maneuverability of boats while providing maximum comfort for users during long trips on water. Furthermore, Honda's patented Positive Lubrication System ensures consistent oil flow throughout the engine's life span - reducing maintenance costs while enhancing overall performance. Meridian, Idaho is a city located in Ada County, in the southwestern region of the state. It is situated just outside of Boise and has become one of the fastest growing cities in Idaho. With a population of over 114,000 people, Meridian has come a long way from its humble beginnings as a small farming community. The history of Meridian dates back to the 1860s when settlers began arriving in the area. The first known settler was William A. Tullis who arrived with his family in 1891. He built a house on what is now Main Street and opened up a blacksmith shop to serve local farmers. In 1893, Charles F. Middleton established the first store and post office which he named "Merrick." This name was later changed to Meridian due to confusion with another town named Merrick located elsewhere in Idaho. As more families settled into the area, agriculture became an important part of Meridian's economy. The fertile land was ideal for growing crops such as potatoes, sugar beets, onions, and mint. These crops helped sustain the early residents and provided economic stability for the community. In 1902, Meridian officially became an incorporated city with John Cramer serving as its first mayor. By this time, it had grown to include several businesses such as general stores, banks, hotels and even its own newspaper called "The News." One significant event that shaped Meridian’s history was when irrigation canals were constructed by Benjamin Franklin Duffin Jr., also known as “The Father of Irrigation” in southern Idaho. These canals allowed for better management of water resources which greatly benefited agricultural production and led to further growth for both Meridian and surrounding areas. However, the Great Depression hit hard during the late 1920s causing many farms to go bankrupt leading many people out west looking for work opportunities during World War II.. In the 1950s, Meridian saw a population boom as many people migrated to the area for work in agriculture and nearby industries. As time went on, Meridian continued to grow and develop. In 1960, it became home to its first high school which was followed by several other schools in the following years. The city also saw an increase in residential development with new neighborhoods being built to accommodate the growing population. The 1970s brought about significant changes for Meridian with the construction of Interstate 84 which provided easier access for commuters from Boise. This led to more businesses setting up shop in Meridian and further boosted economic growth. In recent years, Meridian has experienced unprecedented growth due to its close proximity to Boise and affordable cost of living compared to other cities in Idaho. Its strong economy continues to attract new residents looking for job opportunities and a high quality of life. It has been named one of America's best places to live by multiple publications including CNN Money Magazine. Despite its rapid growth,Meridian has managedto maintain a small-town feel where neighbors know each other’s names and support local businesses. The annual "Meridian Dairy Days" festival celebrates this sense of community with parades, concerts, dances, and various activities that bring together residents young and old alike. In conclusion, the history of Meridian stretches back over a century when it was founded as a farming community by early settlers.Today,it stands tall as one o

Meridian, Idaho is a city located in Ada County, situated in the southwestern part of the state. The history of Meridian dates back to the early 1860s when it was first settled by European pioneers. The area where Meridian now stands was originally inhabited by Native American tribes such as the Shoshone and Bannock. These tribes were known for their nomadic lifestyle, hunting and gathering food from the abundant natural resources in the region. In 1863, Captain Andrew J. Prichard led a group of prospectors through present-day Meridian on their way to gold fields near Boise. They named this area "Boise's Ferry" which later became "Merrillville" after Charles S. Merrill who opened a store there. However, it wasn't until 1891 that settlers began to permanently establish themselves in what is now known as Meridian. In that year, Colonel William H. Denson purchased land along with his wife Mary Ann Denson and established a post office called "Hunter." In 1893, Hunter changed its name to Meridian due to its proximity to an important surveying meridian line used by government surveyors at that time. During this period, farming was one of the primary economic activities in Meridian with crops like potatoes being grown extensively due to fertile soil and favorable climate conditions. In 1902, irrigation systems were introduced which allowed for more diverse agricultural production including fruit orchards and vegetable farms. By 1912, railroads connected Meridian with nearby cities like Nampa and Boise leading to further growth and development in the area. This also played a significant role during World War I when local farmers supplied large quantities of produce for soldiers stationed at nearby military bases. As transportation improved over time so did communication networks with telephone service becoming available around this same time period followed by electricity in 1915. Throughout much of its early history, Meridian remained a small agricultural community with a population of only a few hundred residents. However, the city experienced significant growth and development in the late 20th century due to its close proximity to Boise and increased demand for suburban living. In 1980, Meridian's population had grown to over 10,000 people and by 2019 it had reached over 106,000. Today, Meridian is known as one of the fastest-growing cities in Idaho with a thriving economy fueled by industries such as agriculture, technology, healthcare, and manufacturing. Despite its rapid growth and urbanization, Meridian has managed to maintain its small-town charm with numerous parks and recreational activities available for residents. The city also hosts several annual events including an outdoor summer concert series called "Meridian Rocks" and an arts festival known as "Old Fashioned Christmas." In recent years, Meridian has been recognized nationally for its quality of life ranking among the top places to live in America by publications such as Money Magazine and Forbes. From humble beginnings as a farming community on the Oregon Trail route to becoming one of Idaho's largest cities today; Meridian continues to evolve while still honoring its rich history.

Their engineers constantly strive to develop cutting-edge technologies that improve performance while reducing environmental impact. One such example is their VTEC (Variable Valve Timing & Lift Electronic Control) technology used in some of their outboard motor models. This system optimizes valve timing at low speeds for increased torque while providing high-speed performance without sacrificing fuel efficiency or emissions control. Another notable innovation by Honda Marine is BLAST™ (Boosted Low Speed Torque). This feature uses exhaust gas recirculation combined with advanced cam profiles to create more torque during acceleration from idle speed up until planing speed. This results in quicker acceleration times and improved handling even when carrying heavier loads or pulling water skiers. Environmental Stewardship Honda Marine has always been committed to protecting the environment and minimizing their impact on it. They have developed advanced technologies that help reduce emissions, noise levels, and fuel consumption while maintaining high performance standards. In fact, Honda was the first outboard motor manufacturer to comply with the EPA's 2006 emission regulations for marine engines. Honda's commitment to sustainability is evident in all aspects of their business operations. Their production processes are designed to minimize waste and energy consumption, and they continuously work towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions throughout their supply chain. Product Line Honda Marine offers a wide range of products including portable engines, mid-range engines, high-power engines as well as boat propellers. Their portable engine models range from 2hp up to 20hp making them ideal for small boats or dinghies. Mid-range models (from 25hp up to 60hp) offer higher torque than comparable two-stroke motors while still providing excellent fuel economy. For larger vessels or commercial applications, Honda offers high-powered engines ranging from 75hp up to an impressive 250hp – all featuring advanced technology for maximum efficiency and performance. In addition to outboard motors, Honda also produces a variety of related accessories such as control boxes, gauges, cables and more. They also offer a selection of boat propellers specifically engineered for optimal performance with their outboard motors.
