Armada Pontoon Boats: A History in Twin Falls, Idaho Twin Falls, Idaho is a small city located on the Snake River Plain in southern Idaho. It was founded in 1904 and has since become known for its beautiful landscapes, outdoor recreational opportunities, and agricultural industry. However, one lesser-known aspect of Twin Falls' history is its connection to the boating industry. In particular, the city has a long and rich history with Armada Pontoon Boats – a company that has been manufacturing high-quality pontoons since 1970. Over the years, Armada Pontoon Boats have become synonymous with fun and relaxation on the water in Twin Falls. The Beginning of Armada Pontoon Boats The story of Armada Pontoon Boats began when two brothers from Michigan named Mike and Joe Drees saw an opportunity to revolutionize pontoon design. They noticed that traditional pontoons were often heavy, slow-moving vessels that lacked style and maneuverability. Determined to create something better, they set out to design a pontoon boat that would be both lightweight and stylish while still providing ample space for passengers. After months of research and development, they launched their first model – The Funship – at the National Marine Manufacturers Association show in Chicago in 1970. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with people flocking to see this new type of pontoon boat. Soon after its debut at the trade show, orders came pouring in from all over the country. And thus began the success story of Armada Pontoon Boats. Moving Operations to Twin Falls In 1973, Mike Drees decided it was time for a change of scenery and moved his family – along with Armada's operations – from Michigan to Twin Falls. He chose this location because he believed it offered access to some of America's best boating destinations such as Yellowstone National Park and Jackson Hole. Additionally, Twin Falls provided a prime location for testing and perfecting the boats in real-world conditions. The Snake River, with its calm waters and picturesque scenery, proved to be an ideal spot for this purpose. The move to Twin Falls was also beneficial for the company's growth. With lower production costs and access to skilled labor, Armada Pontoon Boats expanded rapidly. By 1975, they had built a new manufacturing facility in Twin Falls that allowed them to increase their production capacity significantly. Innovations and Expansion As Armada Pontoon Boats grew in popularity and demand, the company continued to innovate and improve its designs. In 1982, they introduced the first triple pontoon model – The Tri-Toon – which offered improved performance compared to traditional two-tube pontoons. Over the next few decades, Armada continued to push the boundaries of pontoon design by introducing features such as full-length keels for better stability and lifting strakes for improved speed and handling. They also expanded their product line beyond just pleasure boats into commercial applications such as tour boats. Today, Armada Pontoon Boats offers a wide range of models suitable for various boating needs – from luxury cruising vessels with comfortable seating options to fishing pontoons equipped with specialized features like livewells and rod holders. Impact on Twin Falls Community Armada Pontoon Boats has not only left its mark on the boating industry but has also made significant contributions to the community of Twin Falls. As one of the largest employers in town, it has created job opportunities for many residents over the years. Moreover, through partnerships with local dealerships and marinas, Armada has helped boost tourism in Twin Falls by attracting visitors who want to experience boating on these unique watercrafts firsthand. This has been especially beneficial during summer months when tourists flock here from nearby cities like Boise or Salt Lake City seeking outdoor adventures. Conclusion In conclusion, Armada Pontoon Boats has played a significant role in shaping the history of Twin Falls, Idaho. Twin Falls, Idaho is a city located in the southern part of the state. It is situated on the banks of the Snake River and is known for its scenic beauty, charming community, and rich history. The city has a population of approximately 50,000 people and serves as an economic hub for southern Idaho. The first settlers in Twin Falls arrived in 1864 with the Oregon Trail migration. The area was initially inhabited by Native American tribes such as Shoshone-Bannock and Northern Paiute before white settlement began. In 1904, two men named I.B Perrine and W.H Olds saw potential in developing hydroelectric power from the Snake River's waterfalls. They purchased land near what would become downtown Twin Falls to build their power plant. With an abundance of natural resources like waterfalls and fertile soil for agriculture, Twin Falls quickly became a prosperous town. In July 1905, it officially incorporated as a city under Mayor C.A Hagerman's leadership. The name "Twin Falls" comes from two separate waterfalls that flow into one another to form one large waterfall – Shoshone Falls (212 feet) and Pillar Falls (100 feet). One of Twin Fall's most notable landmarks is without doubt Shoshone falls – also known as Niagara of the West. This magnificent waterfall attracts visitors from all over because it offers unmatched views year-round due to its location within proximity to residential areas rather than being isolated deep inside national parks like other major falls worldwide. Apart from its natural attractions, Twin Falls has much more to offer residents and tourists alike. Downtown Main Street boasts unique shops selling locally made crafts or antiques alongside modern stores like Starbucks or Walmart Supercenter – making it easy for everyone to find something they desire while exploring this vibrant community. The City Park located along Addison Avenue East features picnic shelters, playgrounds for children, tennis courts that are open all year round, and a beautiful duck pond. It is also home to the Twin Falls Visitor Center, where visitors can learn more about the city's history and plan their stay. For those interested in outdoor activities, Twin Falls has plenty of options to choose from. The Snake River Canyon offers opportunities for hiking, biking, and rock climbing with stunning views of the canyon's vastness. Additionally, Shoshone Falls Park has walking trails that lead visitors closer to the falls for an up-close experience. The Perrine Bridge is another iconic landmark in Twin Falls that attracts adrenaline junkies from around the world. It is one of only six bridges in America where BASE jumping – a sport involving parachuting or wingsuit flying off tall structures – is allowed year-round without permits or special permission. Twin Falls' economy relies heavily on agriculture, manufacturing, healthcare services, and tourism. The fertile soil allows for crops such as potatoes (Idaho's state vegetable), sugar beets (a major cash crop), corn, wheat among others to thrive here. In addition to farming jobs created by these industries mentioned above; businesses like Chobani Yogurt Factory have set up shop providing employment opportunities while adding value back into this community through local partnerships supporting regional farmers who supply them with milk used at their plant. Education plays a significant role in shaping future generations within any community; thus Education continues being prioritized by both government officials and residents alike here at Twin Fall City Schools District 411 which comprises over twenty schools serving students from Pre-Kindergarten all through High school levels. In conclusion: Twin Falls may not be as well-known as other cities across Idaho or even nationwide but it remains an incredible place worth exploring due its wide range of natural attractions alongside family-friendly activities making it perfect destination choice for tourists wanting something different yet not too far away from what they're accustomed to when visiting new places. From its humble beginnings as a small settlement, Twin Falls has grown into a thriving city with a strong sense of community. Its rich history, stunning landscape, and diverse economy make it an ideal place to live, work and visit. Whether you are seeking adventure in the great outdoors or looking for a charming town to call home, Twin Falls offers something for everyone. With its friendly residents and welcoming atmosphere, it is no surprise that many people choose to stay in this hidden gem of Idaho.

The history of Armada Pontoon Boats dates back to the early 1950s, when a group of friends from Minnesota had a vision to create a versatile and durable boat that could be used for both recreational and commercial purposes. This idea led to the birth of the first pontoon boat, which revolutionized the boating industry. The original concept behind pontoon boats was based on using cylindrical metal tubes as floats attached to a platform. The founders of Armada Pontoon Boats, Jerry Curell and Tom Gustafson, took this basic design and added their own innovations to it. Twin Falls, Idaho is a small city located in southern Idaho. It is the county seat of Twin Falls County and has a population of approximately 50,000 people. The history of Twin Falls dates back to the late 19th century when it was founded as a planned community by I.B Perrine. The story of Twin Falls begins with the vision and determination of one man, Ira Burton Perrine. In 1864, Perrine left his home in Illinois to seek fortune in California during the Gold Rush. However, he soon realized that farming would be more profitable than mining and moved to Nebraska where he purchased land for farming. Perrine then began researching irrigation projects and came across an article about Reclamation Service (now known as Bureau of Reclamation) which provided funding for irrigation projects in western states. He became determined to find a place where he could use this knowledge and make his dream come true. In 1900, while on a trip exploring possible locations for his project, Perrine stumbled upon what would later become Twin Falls. He saw great potential in the area due to its abundant water supply from Snake River which runs through it. This led him to purchase land near Shoshone falls (now named after him) with plans to build an extensive canal system for irrigation purposes. With financial backing from investors such as E.H Dewey and Frank Buhl, construction began on the first dam on Snake River near present-day Hansen Bridge in April 1903. By August that year, water was flowing through canals into surrounding farmlands allowing farmers to cultivate crops even during dry seasons. As more people settled around these irrigated lands, demand for other amenities increased leading to establishment of businesses such as banks, hotels and schools among others. On April 12th, 1905 twin towns were incorporated; namely Twin Falls North (later renamed Filer) and South Twin Fall (later renamed Twin Falls) with a combined population of about 600 people. The completion of Milner Dam in 1905, which allowed for larger irrigation projects, saw the population of Twin Falls grow rapidly. By 1910, it had grown to over 3,000 residents and became an important trade center for agricultural products such as sugar beets, alfalfa and potatoes. Additionally, the city was also home to several industries including canning factories and flour mills. In 1912, after years of lobbying by Perrine and other local leaders, Twin Falls County was created from parts of Cassia and Lincoln counties making it possible for citizens to have their own government instead of being governed by neighboring counties. This brought more autonomy and development opportunities to the young city. Twin Fall's progress however came at a cost; some farmers who could not afford expensive water rights were forced out leading to formation of labor unions that demanded fair treatment for workers. This culminated in strikes that sometimes turned violent but eventually led to better working conditions for laborers. The Great Depression hit Twin Falls hard just like the rest of America but World War II provided employment opportunities through construction work on Minidoka Internment Camp where Japanese Americans were detained during war time. The camp later became home to Italian prisoners-of-war who worked on farms around Idaho including those in Twin Falls. After World War II ended in 1945,Twin Fall's economy regained its momentum with new businesses such as J.R Simplot Company establishing processing plants there creating jobs for locals while providing markets for local farm produce. In addition, the establishment CSI(College Southern Idaho)in1954 opened up educational opportunities locally reducing costs associated with studying far away from home. This contributed greatly towards development due creation professional workforce needed drive growth forward into modern era technology driven world we live today Today,Twin falls is thriving community with strong agricultural roots.Residents are proud their heritage preserved through landmarks such as Perrine Bridge which is the largest man-made structure in Idaho and Shoshone Falls which are higher than Niagara falls. In conclusion, Twin Falls has come a long way from being a desert wasteland to becoming a thriving city due to vision and determination of one man, I.B Perrine. Its history is marked by resilience, progress and growth that has shaped it into what it is today. The future holds even more promise for this small but mighty city as it continues to adapt and evolve with the changing times while preserving its rich heritage.

Twin Falls, Idaho is a city located in south-central Idaho, named after the nearby Twin Falls of the Snake River. The city has a rich and unique history that dates back to the 1800s. In the mid-1800s, Twin Falls was inhabited by various Native American tribes such as the Shoshone-Bannock and Northern Paiute people. These tribes lived off the land and utilized resources from the Snake River for hunting, fishing, and agriculture. The first European-American settlers arrived in Twin Falls in 1864 when Montana miner I.B Perrine led an expedition into southern Idaho looking for gold. Instead of finding gold, he discovered vast agricultural potential along with hydroelectric power from the Snake River. He saw this as an opportunity to build a community around these resources. Perrine's vision became reality when he established a small settlement known as Eagle Rock (now known as Idaho Falls) on one side of Snake River Canyon and later founded another town on its opposite side called Shoshone Falls City (later renamed Twin Falls). In 1904, construction began on what would become one of Perrine's most significant achievements –the Milner Dam which created Milner Reservoir providing irrigation water for farming. The completion of Milner Dam opened up opportunities for more settlers to come into the area. By 1915, there were over 1,000 residents living in Twin Falls including farmers who had taken advantage of fertile lands made possible by irrigation systems powered by hydroelectricity generated at Milner Dam. This development also attracted businesses like sugar beet factories which further spurred economic growth. Twin Falls continued to grow throughout the early decades of the 20th century with new industries emerging such as dairies and potato processing plants thanks to abundant natural resources found locally. However, it wasn't until World War II that Twin Fall's population exploded due to military installations built nearby –including the Mountain Home Air Force Base, which brought in thousands of workers and their families. In the 1960s, Twin Falls saw another significant development with the construction of Interstate 84, a major highway connecting Idaho to neighboring states. This new transportation route further boosted economic growth and spurred population expansion as more people were drawn to the area for its thriving industries and natural beauty. Today, Twin Falls is a bustling city with a population of over 50,000 residents. It has become known for its scenic beauty –including Shoshone Falls (known as "The Niagara of the West"), Perrine Bridge (a popular spot for BASE jumping), and numerous outdoor recreational opportunities such as hiking, fishing, camping, and boating. The city also boasts a diverse economy that includes agriculture (potatoes being one of its top crops), manufacturing (food processing plants), healthcare services, retail businesses, and tourism. In recent years there has also been an increase in tech companies establishing operations in Twin Falls due to its low cost of living and business-friendly environment. Twin Falls' rich history is still evident throughout the city today through landmarks such as Perrine's original homestead cabin on Shoshone Street - now listed on the National Register of Historic Places - along with various museums showcasing artifacts from different eras in time. Overall,Twin Falls has come a long way since it was first established by I.B Perrine over a century ago. Its vibrant community continues to honor its past while embracing progress and growth towards an even brighter future ahead.

The history of Armada Pontoon Boats in Twin Falls, Idaho dates back to the early 1960s when a young man named Tom Dugger had a vision of creating a pontoon boat that could navigate the Snake River. Born and raised in Twin Falls, Tom was an avid fisherman who spent most of his free time on the river. He noticed that traditional fishing boats were not ideal for navigating the shallow waters and rocky terrain of the Snake River. Tom's solution was to build a pontoon boat with two aluminum tubes attached to each side for stability. He designed it specifically for fishing and included features such as comfortable seating, rod holders, and storage compartments. With this new design, he was able to maneuver through shallow waters without getting stuck or damaging his boat. In 1964, Tom officially launched Armada Pontoon Boats and set up shop in Twin Falls. His business quickly gained popularity among local fishermen, who saw firsthand how well his boats performed on the Snake River. As word spread about these innovative pontoons, demand grew beyond just anglers – families began using them for recreational activities like water skiing and cruising. Armada Pontoon Boats continued to grow throughout the 1970s as they expanded their product line with larger models that could accommodate more passengers. By this time, they had become one of the leading manufacturers of pontoon boats in Idaho. In addition to their quality products, Armada also became known for their exceptional customer service. Tom believed in building strong relationships with his customers by providing personalized attention and going above and beyond expectations. This helped establish a loyal customer base that continues today. As Armada's reputation grew outside of Twin Falls, so did their reach across Idaho – reaching cities like Boise and Coeur d'Alene where there are also thriving boating communities. The company faced its first major challenge in 1982 when founder Tom Dugger passed away unexpectedly. His wife, Karen Dugger, took over the business and continued to run it with the same dedication and passion as her late husband. She made sure that Armada's high standards for quality and customer service remained unchanged. In the 1990s, Armada introduced new designs and features to their pontoons, including a full-length center tube for added stability and larger motors for increased speed. These advancements solidified Armada's position as an industry leader in pontoon boat manufacturing. The turn of the century brought even more growth for Armada Pontoon Boats as they expanded into new markets across the Western United States. They also began offering custom-built boats to meet specific customer needs. Today, under the leadership of Tom Dugger's son-in-law Scott Beckett, Armada continues its tradition of excellence in Twin Falls while embracing modern technology and design techniques. Their state-of-the-art facility boasts advanced equipment and tools to ensure top-quality construction on every boat that leaves their factory. Armada Pontoon Boats has become a household name in Twin Falls – a testament to their commitment to providing exceptional products backed by unbeatable customer service. Their legacy is one of innovation, determination, and unwavering dedication to meeting the needs of boaters in Idaho and beyond. As we look towards the future, there is no doubt that Armada will continue making waves with their cutting-edge designs and unmatched craftsmanship – solidifying their place as a leading manufacturer of pontoon boats not just in Twin Falls but across the country.

Armada pontoon boats have been a staple in the boating industry for over 30 years. Known for their durability, versatility, and comfort, these watercrafts have become a top choice for both recreational and commercial use. The history of Armada pontoon boats dates back to the early 1980s when founder Bob Menne set out to create a boat that could withstand rough waters while also providing ample space and stability.
